Dr Neil Gibson

Dr. Neil Gibson works for Blacktown City Council as the project director for the Blacktown Exercise Sports and Technology Hub and future Disability Sports Centre of Excellence

Before joining Blacktown Council, Neil was a Director at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, a role which encompassed the design and delivery of Scotland’s Sports Performance Centre and associated hotel, development of postgraduate taught courses in sports management, the supervision of postgraduate research students and managing a large team of applied practitioners working across multiple sporting codes.

Neil has held the role of Head of Performance at Heart of Midlothian FC whilst providing consultancy services to the English FA, GB Water Polo, Edinburgh University, Scotland Squash and the Scottish FA.

Neil holds a doctorate in psychophysiology applied to paediatric populations, is an author of academic and grey media publications and is a fellow of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences.
