Dr Oscar Lederman
Oscar is a Lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney, School of Exercise Sport and Rehabilitation, and an Adjunct Fellow within the Discipline of Psychiatry & Mental Health, School of Clinical Medicine, UNSW Medicine at the University of New South Wales.
With over 10 years of experience in the mental health sector as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and, more recently, in academia, Oscar has been instrumental in defining the value and building the profile of exercise professionals as core mental health team members. As an early career researcher, Oscar has published extensively on topics related to physical activity, lifestyle interventions, healthcare improvement, and mental illness. He is passionate about reducing health inequities through improving accessibility of preventative health services for communities who often miss out.
Oscar's research expertise includes implementation research, healthcare quality improvement, and co-design research. He regularly provides education and training for students, academics, and health professionals and is a qualified Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Instructor.
