Joanna Kubota

Joanna joined The Parks in January 2021 after the eight Councils of the Western Parkland City, namely Blue Mountains, Camden, Campbelltown, Fairfield, Hawkesbury, Liverpool, Penrith and Wollondilly committed to working collaboratively for their region through the formation of a partnership – Sydney’s Parkland Councils.

Covering an area of more than 8,000 km2, or two-thirds of Greater Sydney, these Councils serve more than one million people and expect to welcome half a million more residents by 2036. An entrepreneurial and determined executive with over 26 years’ experience driving Australia’s economic growth, Joanna had previously provided leadership and strategic advice to Local, State and Federal Governments in the design and implementation of economic development, industry expansion and innovation advancement programs.

In this role,  Joanna is responsible for driving City Deal projects and facilitating collaboration across all three levels of government to deliver the vision for the Western Parkland City and unlock opportunities for our communities in education, business and employment.

She has also driven a number of projects across all 8 Councils in the digital space, including the implementation of a digital equity and inclusion project, a cyber-security uplift programme and the implementation and expansion of open data portals.
