Yathugiri is the Health Development - Social Planning and Advocacy Officer at Fairfield City Council. Her work focuses on improving the health and wellbeing of the people of Fairfield City through the Fairfield Health Partnership, a collaborative partnership between South Western Sydney Local Health District and Fairfield City Council.

Yathugiri leads and supports multidisciplinary teams working on projects particularly around preventative health and building community health literacy. Her work involves engaging with internal and external stakeholders from both health and non-health backgrounds, and advocating for a whole of system approach to address the social determinants of health.
